What we do

What we do on DeVilbiss booths

DeVilbiss booths are in service in many configurations and ages, so a visit starts with how your booth is actually set up today: airflow, heat, filters and controls, checked on site.

Spray Booth Services provides independent service for DeVilbiss booths, along with all makes and models. We're a division of John Baker Sales, in business since 2003, and paint booths and the compressors that feed them are all we work on. Whether you need a repair or scheduled maintenance, we'll find the real cause and explain it in plain terms.

What we handle

Controls & electricalPanel faults, sensors and interlocks traced to the real cause before parts get replaced.
Burner & heatIgnition, flame sensing and cure temperature brought back to reliable operation.
Airflow & balanceBooth pressure and airflow restored for clean finishes.

How a service visit works

From first call to a booth that runs right

  1. Step 1

You call or send the form

Call (888) 912-6684 or use the request form. Tell us it's a DeVilbiss booth, what it's doing, and when it started. A photo of the data plate helps.

  2. Step 2

We respond within 1 business day

Every request gets a reply within 1 business day so we can ask the right questions and set a time.

  3. Step 3

    On-site diagnosis

A technician checks airflow, filters, heat, dampers, and controls on your booth as it's actually configured, not from a generic spec sheet.

  4. Step 4

    Clear explanation and quote

We walk you through what we found, what it takes to fix, and what can wait. You approve before work starts.

  5. Step 5

    Repair or schedule

We fix it on the visit when we can, or schedule the repair, parts, or maintenance around your production.

Common DeVilbiss booth problems

Most DeVilbiss service calls start with a job that came out wrong, not a blinking light. The patterns we see most on booths of any make:

  • Bake temperature that climbs slowly or stalls short of setpoint.
  • A burner that won't light or locks out partway through a cycle.
  • Dirt and nibs in the finish from loaded or bypassing filters, or a cabin that won't hold positive pressure.
  • Weak airflow from loaded exhaust filters or slipping belts.
  • A control panel that won't start a cycle because one device in the interlock chain is open.

Our article on binks and devilbiss booth service goes into these in more detail.

What you can check yourself

Some of this is shop-level work you don't need a technician for:

  • Read and log the manometer at the same time each day. The trend matters more than any one number.
  • Change intake and exhaust filters on readings and a schedule, not on complaint.
  • Keep floor grates clear and the cabin swept.
  • Wipe light lenses and note any that look yellow or dim.
  • Listen for new fan noise and check that belts aren't slipping.
  • Inspect door seals for tears, flattening, and gaps.

Logging the manometer is the cheapest early warning you have. See how to read a paint booth manometer.

When to call a technician

Stop at anything involving the gas train, burner adjustment, high-voltage wiring, drive components, damper actuators, or safety devices. A control panel that refuses to start is usually protecting you from something, and an interlock should never be jumpered to get a car out the door. Those are paint booth repair jobs.

If you're not sure how much life is left in the booth, a Paint Booth Evaluation gives you a technician's view before you budget. Smart Filter Monitoring can email you when filter airflow says it's time to change.

Questions and answers

DeVilbiss booth service questions

More answers in the FAQ →
Why is my DeVilbiss booth not reaching temperature?

Usually loaded filters, a damper not repositioning for bake, a burner not firing fully, low gas pressure under load or a sensor reading incorrectly. Which one applies depends on how your booth is set up, so have it checked on site.

Can I reset a control panel fault myself?

Resetting once is reasonable. Resetting repeatedly is not: a fault that keeps returning means a device is doing its job and something upstream is wrong. See control panel faults.

How often should the filters be changed?

Go by manometer readings and your manufacturer's stated limits, not the calendar. A production shop loads filters far faster than one spraying a few panels a week.

Are you a DeVilbiss dealer or authorized service center?

No. Spray Booth Services is an independent service company. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by DeVilbiss, and we'll tell you if something needs to go back to the manufacturer.

Can you service a booth you didn't install?

Yes. We work on booths regardless of who sold or installed them.

How quickly do you respond?

We reply within 1 business day. If the booth is down, tell us when you call so we can plan the visit around it.
