What's different about powder booth service
In a liquid booth, exhaust filters are a consumable. In a powder booth, overspray arrives dry and reusable, so the main collection stage is a cartridge or recovery system that captures powder and releases it on pulse-jet cleaning cycles. That means maintaining a cleaning mechanism (pulse valves, diaphragms, solenoids, timer, and cartridge seals), not just tracking media life.

Signs your powder system needs service
- Differential pressure that won't come back down after a pulse cycle.
- Unusually low differential pressure, or powder showing up past the cartridges.
- Powder escaping the booth openings into the plant.
- Craters, fisheyes, or poor adhesion that point to oil or water in the air.
- Thin or uneven coverage that can trace back to grounding.
- Soft film, poor adhesion, or yellowing that points to oven temperature problems.
Grounding, housekeeping, and the oven
Powder is a combustible dust and carries a charge by design, so grounding is both a quality item and a safety item. Hangers build up cured powder that insulates, so stripping them is real maintenance. Keep powder off horizontal surfaces and out of the plenum.

Powder booth service questions
How often should powder cartridges be replaced?
On measured differential pressure and cleaning performance, not on a date. Cartridges that no longer recover after a pulse cycle, or that show media damage or gasket failure, are done. Color change frequency and pulse air quality drive cartridge life more than run hours.
Can bad shop air really ruin a batch of powder?
Yes. Oil or moisture reaching the powder through pulse or fluidizing air shows up after cure as craters, fisheyes, and adhesion failures, and it can ruin cartridges. See compressor service.
Our finish is inconsistent but the booth looks fine. Where do we start?
Check the oven and grounding first. After that, check pulse air quality, cartridge differential pressure, and fluidizing air pressure.
Do you service cure ovens too?
Yes. Booth, recovery system, oven, controls, and compressed air get treated as one system, because a fault in any of them shows up on the part.
Can you keep our recovery and color changes clean?
Yes. Clean containment airflow and working cartridge or cyclone recovery keep coats even and color changes clean.
