The manometer on your spray booth measures static pressure — the pressure difference across your filters. It's usually a simple gauge that shows how hard your air is having to push through the filter media. As filters load with overspray and dust, they restrict airflow, and that restriction shows up as a rising reading. In other words, the manometer is the closest thing your booth has to a fuel gauge for filter and airflow health.

Reading clean vs. loaded filters

When you install fresh filters, note the reading — that's your clean baseline. As filters load, the reading climbs: a low reading means fresh filters and good airflow; a rising reading is normal loading; a high reading means filters are restricting airflow and it's time to change them.
